Quality of life of patients with multiple myeloma related to the primary disease duration

Brief summary

We have conducted a study on quality of life of 68 patients with multiple myeloma using the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire and its module Myeloma MY20. Depending on the primary disease duration we identified three groups: Group I (less than 1 year) – 26 subjects, Group II (from 1 to 3 years) – 28 subjects, Group III (more than 3 years) – 14 subjects. The questionnaire survey has shown the relationship between patients’ quality of life and the primary disease duration. In addition to this, diverse components of ill health have been identified in different groups. This should be taken into account while planning and correcting medical preventive measures.
