Brief summary
This article presents the results of investigation of the elemental status of children living in different districts of Lipetsk with different levels of development pressure, which were conditionally divided into "А" and "В" zones. Hair concentrations of 18 chemical elements in 6,5-7,5- year-old children were measured by ICP-MS. Biomedical assessment of the obtained results was performed. The dynamics of changes in the elemental status of children was estimated. Reliable differences in the elemental balance of children depending on gender and residence zone were revealed. A deficiency in magnesium, potassium, calcium, manganese, and iodine in children’s hair was established. The environmental situation in Lipetsk was found to improve compared to 1993-1998.
