Brief summary
The nature of the effects was investigated of dipyridamole (DPD) drug on the functioning of ion channels (Ca2+, K+, Cl-) of the plasma membrane of Chara corallina cells. It was shown that DPD blocks L - type Ca - channels. Presence of DPD slowed the kinetics of activation and inactivation of the calcium channels. Interaction of dipyridamole with high affinity binding sites for Ca2+ - channels (K1/2 = 12.5 µM) leads to suppression of calcium current. Hill coefficient characterizing the cooperative interaction of the compounds and their respective targets is 1, which indicates no cooperation in the interaction of DPD with the Ca2+ - channel. Dipyridamole had no effect on the state of the potassium and chloride channel, nor did it affect the rest potential or resistance of the plasma membrane.
