Brief summary
The article presents the main results of a prospective clinical study of diagnostic value of single photon emission computed tomography with 99mTc MIBI (SPECT) X-ray computed tomography (CT), and combination of these methods in staging 83 patients with non-small cell lung cancer. The study demonstrated a significant increase in sensitivity (from 88 to 94%), using a combination of CT-SPECT in the detection of regional spread of NSCLC. In addition found that the combination of CT-SPECT in patients with no radiographic evidence of atelectasis and obstructive pneumonia (49 cases) can increase specificity of 88%.
