Brief summary
On 200 adults skulls we studied the morphometric parameters of the lower jaw, articulate surfaces of a temporo-mandibular joint, and also morphometric and strength characteristics of its capsule in various age groups. It was established that exactly age changes of the lower jaw, articulate surfaces of temporo-mandibular joint and its capsule increase probability of emergence of dysfunction of temporo-mandibular joint at persons of advanced and senile age. Occlusive conditioned changes of these anatomic educations aggravate the specified age changes and create anatomic preconditions to emergence of dysfunction of temporo-mandibular joint at persons of I and II periods of mature age.
