Brief summary
The agents, which modulate the activity of GABAergic and glutamatergic neurotransmitter systems, are analyzed to the object of the presence of the amethystic properties by acute ethanol intoxication. The antagonists of GABAA- receptors and chloride channels blockers manifest the properties of the amethystic means, but their application is limited to high toxicity. Perspective means it is possible to consider the reverse agonists of benzodiazepine receptors. Among the agents, which modify glutamatergic neurotransmission, amethystic activity possess the antagonists of mGluR2/3 metabotropic glutamate receptors. Their amethystic activity is limited to short period of action and low effectiveness under the conditions of the already formed clinical picture of poisoning. Given preparations do not manifest the amethystic properties during poisonings of heavy degree.
