Brief summary

Vibration is an etiological factor of vibration disease. By its nature, vibration is a mechanical oscillatory motion that repeats itself after certain periods. The effect of vibration is determined by the transfer of mechanical energy to a person from a source of vibrations. The normalized vibration indicators at the workplace are regulated by SanPiN 2.2.4.3359-16 (IV. Vibration at the workplace). Vibration is divided into local and general according to the method of transmission to a person. Local vibration is transmitted mainly through the hands, feet, lower back, thigh, chest of a person when contact with vibrating work surfaces. General vibration is transmitted to the body of a standing, sitting or lying person through the supporting surfaces. It is divided into transport, transport-technological and technological vibration. The simultaneous impact of local and general vibration is possible in industrial conditions. The pathogenesis of vibration disease is a complex of neuroreflex and neurohumora disorders, changes in the adaptation mechanism, disorders of immune regulation and microcirculation leading to the formation of both local changes in the zone of direct vibration exposure as well as in various parts of the central nervous system that regulate important vital functions. There is no unified classification of vibration disease in Russia. The preferred classification is that of G.N. Lagutina (2011) which is comparable with the recommendations of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and allows for a unified approach to assessing changes in the body caused by vibration. The diagnosis of the disease is based on the study of the professional history, assessment of the sanitary and hygienic working conditions, the totality of clinical manifestations of the disease, the results of laboratory and instrumental research methods. Treatment first of all involves a temporary or permanent cessation of work in conditions of exposure to vibration and other adverse factors, the use of vasodilators and pain relievers, antiplatelet agents, antioxidants, antihypoxants, physiotherapy methods. Prevention includes engineering and technical, organizational and administrative and medical preventive measures. The examination of the working capacity is carried out accordance with the requirements of the order of the Ministry o Health of the Russian Federation No. 29n of 2021
