Brief summary
Heart lesion is an unusual manifestation of echinococcal disease and accounts for 0.5-3% of all localizations. Case report is presented of recurrence of cardiac echinococcosis with the formation of cysts in the area of the right ventricle 24 years after the primary surgical treatment. All this time, the patient slowly developed a clinic of heart failure against the background of atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries. Pathological examination of the surgical material after cardiac surgical removal of cysts confirmed the presence of an echinococcal cyst with suppuration, abscess formation, and perifocal granulomatous inflammation.
