An interdisciplinary approach to the concept of cardiovascular risk. From predictors to population prevention
Cherkashin D.V., Sobolev A.D., Nikashin A.N.

S.M. Kirov Military Medical Academy, Saint Petersburg, Russia

Brief summary

The data of the published literature of recent years on the role of stress load in the formation of a general cardiovascular risk have been studied. Possible pathophysiological links between the stress activation of the sympathoadrenal system and the mechanisms of formation of traditional cardiovascular risk factors are described. Potential successful interdisciplinary programs aimed at minimizing cardiovascular risk, implemented at national and international levels, are reflected.

Key words

stress load, sympathoadrenal system, traditional factors, total cardiovascular risk, intersectoral prevention programs
