The murders, in which the handguns were used, make the significant part (117 cases) of all the murders (703 cases) through the analysed period of time. It's approximately 17% of all the murders. Data about the murders in which the handguns were used, are reviewed for the period of the last five years.
In this research we were using different kind of facts and materials from SFMC database. Every homicide was analyzed by the victim's ganger, age, the amount of shooting injuries and it's location, by the type of the hand guns projectile, the distance of the shot, by the seasonality and using of alcohol.

The number of the murders in which the firearms were used has decreased while the period of the last five years. The most of the victims were young and middle-aged mankind - the economically active part of society. Mainly the victim's deaths were caused by single shot in the head or chest from little distance. The munitions that were mainly used were cartridge fitted with covered bullets. This kind of murders in predominant cases had been done in autumn, winter and spring and victims in those cases were not in alcohol intoxication.
The tendency of decreasing of kind of murders can be indicative of decreasing of criminological activities and stability of economy and politics, as well as the actions of the institutions of justice.
