Brief summary

The article presents the problem of the need to include biomonitoring studies in the program of medical examinations of personnel of chemical enterprises and the population living in areas contaminated with chemicals. Biomonitoring, as a system for assessing the danger of toxicants, makes it possible to quantify the total dose of the chemical entering the body in all ways: with air, water, food, through the skin. An algorithm is proposed for identifying high-risk groups among employees of chemical enterprises and the population, based on the results of chemical monitoring of external exposure, determination of chemicals in biological environments depending on toxicokinetic characteristics, clinical examination of persons exposed to chemicals, determination of biomarkers of exposure and effect, as objective criteria for proving the presence of chemicals in the body and their toxic effects, formation of conclusions and practical recommendations.
