Brief summary

The article carried out an experimental study of the effectiveness of inhalation use of atropine as a means of correcting respiratory disorders caused by acute poisoning of rats with an organophosphorus compound. It has been shown that intramuscular administration of a toxicant at a dose LD16 causes significant changes in the external respiratory function of rats, manifested in a decrease in the minute volume of respiration, icrease in inhalation and exhalation, an increase in expiratory pauses and the development of bronchoconstriction. The duration of toxic effects is 240-360 minutes. Single intratracheal administration of atropine in doses of 0,26 and 0,86 mg/kg (3 and 10 mg per person) helps to reduce the severity of bronchospasm by 1,6-2,6 times compared with the control group. Therapeutic effects persist for two to three hours, depending on the dose of antidote administered. In this regard the expediency of repeated administration of atropine with an interval of 2 hours is shown. Double inhalation use of the antidote at a dose of 0,26 mg/kg in accordance with the proposed scheme allows completely stopping the manifestations of bronchoconstriction and preventing recurrence of respiratory disorders. It was found that the repeated use of atropine at a dose of 0,86 mg/kg is characterized by an increase in the toxic effect of organophosphorus compounds and is accompanied by an increase in the proportion of dead rats. The obtained results indicate the inadmissibility in doses exceeding 3 mg.
