In the article is presented the results of an experimental study of radioprotectors with various mechanisms of anti-radiation action in combined radiation-chemical ingury caused by the sequential action of X-rays and carbon monoxide. It is shown that drugs, the protective effect of which is realized by the formation of hypoxia in radiosensitive tissues, do not have a protective effect with this type of combined injury. Prophylactic administration of B-190 and naphazoline led to a significant decrease in the survival rate of laboratory animals and a more pronounced inhibition of hematopoiesis according to the endogenous colony formation test. Prophylactic administration of cystamine, as a drug that provides an antiradiation effect through inactivation of free radicals and direct protection of DNA, showed a distinct protective effect in combined radiation-chemical damage, expressed in an increase in the proportion of surviving animals, a lesser degree of suppression and an earlier onset of hematopoiesis recovery in white mice.
