The work is devoted to the definition of the content of priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the soils of Moscow. A program for the choosing of monitoring are devised. The description of methods of the analysis of soils samples. The measured mass concentration of benz[a]pyrene and the sum of 10 indicator compounds polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons compared with existing Russian and European standards. The experimental materials on the levels of toxicants on the territory of the city compared with the results received in previous years. The area with separate points of high pollution was identified.
