Disturbances in iron metabolism occur in many patients. These patients have no classical symptoms of clinical anemia. Certain groups of people, including children and women of genital age, are in a zone of risk of such violations of an exchange of iron and at them anemia and other accompanying violations can develop. Such patients are necessary for revealing early stages of a deficiency of iron condition. Classical hematologic (НЬ, Rbc, Hct, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW), biochemical markers and new calculation parameters of erythrocytes (VHf, VHDWf) allow to reveal latent deficiency of iron in the analysis parameters of erythrocytes and it is rational to use biochemical researches for diagnostics of latent functional iron deficiency.
