Brief summary
In experiments on rats we’ve conducted effectiveness screening of single dose of several pulmonary administered medications (human equivalent dose of 25 mg) on heavy pulmonary toxicants injury model (1LCt99 toxodose by ammonia, chlorine, chloropicrin, phosgene). Medications studied haven’t affected lethality rate, but some of them showed to have statistically significant positive effect on intoxicated animals’ longevity. The most effect has been shown by sodium cromoglycate (30-70% increase), ascorbic acid (50-113%) and alpha lipoic acid (28-72%). Indicated medications, having clear positive effect on course of intoxication of all studied pulmonary toxicants, can be considered as a basis for inhaled antidote for asphyxiant agents.
