Psychological factors producing neurotic disorders in military cadets

Brief summary
The medical case reports of 424 military cadets with different mental disorders dot during education at the military institution in 1987-2009 years and the results of their professional psychological selection (with the control group of 434 intact military cadets of the same recruitment) have been analyzed. It has been ascertained that mental disorders in the military cadets mainly in the form of neurotic reactions developed at the initial stages of their education. High vulnerability to psychotraumatic factor s in the military cadets and risk of neurotic disorders development are stipulated by combination of low (in comparison with mean levels) neuromental stability; personal adaptation potential and general intellect growth, particularly in such parameters as logical thinking, visual and verbal memory, counting activity. Their low adaptation capabilities resulted from the prevalence of asteno-hypochondriac, hystero-exciting or schizo-sensitive traits of character witch determined peculiarity of an intrapsychic conflict in frustration overloading.
